Is this an attempt at credit card fraud or a simple mistake
I was at Cha Cha"s for the first time on October 8, 2004. After finishing our meal the server brought us our check. The check was for $33.58. I gave the server my debit card and she returned with the check for me to sign. Much to my suprise, the charged amount was for $53.89. I compared the two and then spoke with the manager. He said that he would take care of the situation which to my belief he did. I was brought the right check and signed that one for payment. The server stated she was very sorry for the mix up and that she must have charged me under someone elses table. Mind you, I never signed the first bill. On October 13th I was checking my bank statement on line and to my dismay, both charges were put through to my bank. This was a clear case of credit card fraud on the part of this restaurant. How could they put a charge through that was not authorized unless someone signed my name to it. I contacted the restaurant and the charge was taken care of I believe because I told them I was a police officer (which I am) and that credit card fraud had possibly occurred. Should you ever eat at this restaurant at The Pier in St. Petersburg, be very careful and check your bill to make sure it is right. I find this to be unacceptable on the part of this restaurant. What type of people do they have working there is what I would like to know.

Worth the hike!
Celebrated my birthday lunch at Cha's Cha's and loved the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and when I asked for a Quervo top off to my Margarita, no problem! I suggest driving down the pier to look for free parking before paying $3. in the lot. Had a table on the rail, million dollar view!!!

OK Tourist Trap
It's a tourist trap located on the Pier with a magnificant view. The drinks are pricey--no bargains unless you go during happy hour. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Bands occasionally. The view is worth it. You can watch sailboats in Tampa Bay, but the sunset is over the city.
